Abstract

Data from 1,957 programs that applied for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) early education accreditation were analyzed with Item Response Theory. Results suggest many items had similar difficulty and discrimination, which could be removed to streamline the assessment process without compromising measurement quality.
