Abstract

Prenatal exposure to air pollution causes an inflammatory response. 162 families were included in analyses. Prenatal exposure to pollution and resulting inflammation had a negative effect on child development. This was evidenced by increased anxiety, attention problems, and withdrawn behaviors, which have implications for the development of future psychopathology.
