Abstract

This study examines how different types of traumatic experiences impact mental health and help-seeking attitudes among 324 Muslim American young adults. Findings reveal that personal identity trauma predicts depression and PTSD, gender discrimination predicts depression, anxiety, and help-seeking intentions, and uprootedness predicts substance use and perceived helpfulness of prior treatment.
