Examining Driver Attention in Automated Vehicles: The Impact of Secondary Tasks

Abstract

This study explores how push notifications from driving consoles affect driver vigilance in partially automated vehicles. Participants will identify road hazards under control and experimental conditions involving secondary tasks. It hypothesizes reduced vigilance, increased reaction times, offering insights to improve safety by minimizing distractions in automated driving systems.
