Abstract

We investigated the effects of individual differences in emotion competence (EC) on perceived trustworthiness of AI-generated faces. Forty-one participants (Mage=21.23 years; 19 females) were asked to indicate whether real and synthetic faces were trustworthy. Results showed that people with high EC score tended to perceive synthetic faces as trustworthy.
