Abstract

Previous research has shown that romantic partners simultaneously elicit positive and negative target evaluations. We examine whether liked and disliked famous individuals also elicit implicit bivalence. We predict that both groups will facilitate classification of both positive and negative targets in an evaluative priming task, displaying evidence of bivalent-priming effects.
