Does Perceived Social Support Moderate Rumination Effects on Negative Affect?

Abstract

This study examined the role of social support (SS) as a moderator between rumination and negative affect (NA). While rumination positively predicted NA levels, and SS did so non-linearly and inversely, SS did not significantly moderate adverse effects of rumination. Clinical implications will be discussed.
