Symbolic Interpretation of Abstract Images, Intuition, Imagination, and Emotional Responsiveness.

We compared intuitive and creative thinking styles, emotional responsiveness, and symbolic interpretations of abstract images. Regression analysis revealed that symbolic interpretation is positively associated with imaginative thinking, sadness, and faster emotional responsiveness, and (unexpectedly) negatively associated with emergent thinking. Symbolic interpretation was also unrelated to intuitive thinking.
