Early Material Hardship Impact on Preschoolers’ Behavioral Problems: Household Chaos and Family Conflict As Mediators

This study examined the impact of exposure to material hardship in infancy on preschoolers’ behavioral problems mediated by household chaos and family conflict. Results suggested household chaos mediated the association between material hardship and internalizing and externalizing behaviors, while family conflict mediated the relationship between material hardship and externalizing behaviors.
