Smart, Somewhat Anti-Social, Driven, Cocky, Hardworking, Male: Analyzing Qualitative Prototypicality Responses of Engineering Students and the Effects of Gender

This study breaks down prototypicality, and the effects of gender in an engineering student sample. Via open and in-vivo coding, qualitative responses were coded for both trait categories and valence. The study found that non-men (women/nonbinary) engineering students perceive others to think more positively of them than male engineering students.
