Abstract

Using the dual process motivational model, we examined how racism, sexism, nationalism, and xenophobia influenced 2024 U.S. presidential election outcomes. Prejudice, particularly xenophobia, predicted Trump support and Harris opposition. Prejudice mediated effects of social dominance orientation and right-wing authoritarianism, reflecting social dominance and security motives underlying political attitudes and behavior.
