Nostalgia and Consumers' Product Recycling Decisions

Abstract

Across five studies, we found that nostalgia (dispositional, situational, or induced by product packaging) enhanced consumers' product recycling intentions, but only when the products were strongly linked to their identity, such as brand or cultural identity.
