Abstract
We exploratively investigated the behavioral performance and neural processes of high-altitude immigrants and high-altitude indigenous residents in source memory task. The results indicated that the indigenous residents required greater cognitive effort and resources to successfully retrieve both item and source information, enhancing our understanding of cognitive adaptation to high-altitude exposure.
