Abstract
We investigated the effect of inequality on children's social trust and prosociality. Among a group of 5-9-year-olds (N = 153), disadvantageous inequality reduced their trust and prosociality toward the individual who created the inequality but not a new peer. Results highlight early social-emotional consequences of inequality and future research directions.
