Abstract
This study shows maladaptive emotion regulation mediates the relationship between intolerance of uncertainty (IU) and OCD checking, but not cleaning or ordering. Findings suggest IU’s impact on OCD is subtype-specific, with checking potentially serving as information-seeking to manage uncertainty, highlighting emotion regulation as a key mechanism in OCD symptomology.
