Beyond Work: How Novel Off-Job Experiences Boost Employee Creativity

We examined how off-job novel, self-expanding experiences enhance workplace creativity. Using a 10-day experience sampling method with 99 employees from creativity-intensive industries, findings show that positive affect mediates this relationship, with stronger effects for employees with low job autonomy, highlighting the role of off-job experiences in fostering work creativity.
