Distinguishing Method Effects from Executive Function Assessment: A Bifactor Analysis of Performance-Based and Questionnaire Measures

The factor structure and structural relationships between performance-based and questionnaire measures of executive function in children was tested. Findings revealed distinct measurement-specific factors with significant method effects, emphasizing the importance of considering both performance and reported behavioral manifestations when assessing executive function.
