Small to Moderate Associations between Subjective and Objective Memory Performance across the Lifespan

Participants ages 18 to 74 completed subjective (self-reported) and objective (in-person) memory assessments. Small to moderate associations between subjective memory and objective episodic memory were indicated for both older and younger adults. Results also suggested that memory self-efficacy may be a useful subjective indicator of older adults’ memory abilities.
