Abstract

We examined the main effects of parents’ antisocial influence on substance use among justice-involved adolescents and moderating effects of paternal relationship quality. Among 1057 participants, we found antisocial influence was significantly associated with adolescent substance use. Paternal hostility did not moderate this relationship; however, paternal warmth was a protective buffer.
