Negative Emotional Information Decreases False Memory: Effect of Positive or Negative Information on False Memory Creation

Abstract

Effects of emotional information on creation of true or false memory was examined using presuppositions. Neutral images were paired with positive or negative descriptions, followed by presuppositions (true/false questions). Results showed decreased false memory with negative emotional information that was not seen with positive information.
