The Impact of Comprehending Female-Term Etymology on Modern Female Perceptions of Gender Roles

This two-phase study examined how etymological awareness of female-oriented terms influences perceptions of gender roles among adolescent and adult females. Adults displayed greater sensitivity to terms, with significant correlations for 5 of 11 words. Adolescents showed greater perception shifts; this could be due to adults’ initial familiarity with the terms.
