Gray Matter Structure Correlates with Individual Differences in False Memory Performance

Abstract

False memories occur when individuals recall events that never happened.  Our study investigated cortical thickness differences associated with accurate versus inaccurate memory performance. Our findings highlight distinct structural brain contributions to memory reliability, underscoring the importance of gray matter in memory processes.
