Race and Gender Differences in Romantic Relationship Desire

Romantic relationship desire was examined among 578 cisgender White and African American young adults. Findings indicate women desire long-term relationships and marriage more than men, but do not prioritize romantic relationships more. African Americans, especially African American women desire marriage more than Whites but place less importance on romantic relationships.
