Abstract

This study simultaneously tested goal orientation and expectancy-value theories on job search strategies amongst unemployed job seekers at three-time points (nT1 = 859; nT2 = 720; nT3 = 418). Results showed that goal orientation predicted job search strategies beyond expectancy-value variables, indicating the relevance of job-search motivation in job search.
