Differences in Clinical Characteristics and Psychosocial Functioning in Borderline Personality Disorder By Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity

This study examines potential discrepancies in clinical correlates commonly associated with BPD between SGM and non-SGM groups. Results suggest that the elevated comorbidity, suicidality, and hospitalization among SGM individuals might be better attributed to processes other than BPD or underlying psychopathology dimensions and instead reflect minority stressors.
