Abstract

We examined Kornell and Bjork’s (2008) seminal finding that interleaved exemplar presentation promotes category learning. In a direct replication (n=60), we observed a robust interleaving effect (dz=0.68, p<0.001). In the extension, however, using a response-bias-free 2-AFC methodology, there was no significant interleaving effect (n=57, dz=0.12, p=0.37).
