Predicting Task-Based Executive Function Performance from Questionnaire Measures in Youth: A Non-Linear Dimensional Analysis

Executive function, crucial for goal-oriented behavior, shows discrepancies between questionnaire-based and task-based measures. Using dimension reduction and random forest regression, this study tested their relationship in a large youth sample. Results revealed that questionnaire data can moderately predict task-based working memory performance, suggesting some shared variance despite measurement differences.
