Differential Traumatic Stress Outcomes of Self-Harm and Causing Harm to Others

This confirmatory study examined the association of self-harm and harm to others with symptoms of traumatic stress (N = 10312). The findings showed that guilt and depersonalization were associated with both self-harm and harm to others. However, only self-harm was related to disturbances in self-organization, derealization, insomnia, and substance use.
