Abstract

Our study explored professors’ reactions to students’ use of different types of humor in a college classroom setting. Both endorsing (i.e., laughing along with) inappropriate jokes or sanctioning (i.e., calling out) benign humor reflects poorly on the professor’s professionalism and students’ desire to take future classes with them.
