Family Characteristics and Children's Well-Being in American Families: A Study Using Machine Learning and Logistic Regression

Abstract

This study examined the influence of family characteristics and socio-demographic variables on children's well-being using binary logistic regression and machine learning decision tree method. 42,396 families with children aged 3-17 were analyzed. Children’s screen time, family’s hopeful attitude, mealtime together, household language, income level, etc, significantly affected well-being outcomes.
