Effects of Feedback Providers’ Emotional Tone and Gender on Learning from a Multimedia Lesson

Abstract
Students participated in an interactive multimedia lesson, answering practice questions and receiving feedback from an instructor displaying either positive or neutral emotion via a video clip. Students who received positive feedback rated the instructor as more supportive and positive, and reported experiencing more positive emotions themselves.
