Experiencing More Tornadoes Increases Risk of Severe Weather Phobia Symptoms

Abstract
Exposure to severe weather events can impact individuals’ mental health. Our study examined the relationship between exposure to seven types of severe weather and severe weather phobia in 447 U.S. adults. Results revealed a significant link between increased exposure to tornadoes and severe weather phobia symptoms.
