Effectiveness of Blended Learning: Supporting Mathematics Foundation Phase Pre-Service Teachers in a University in Eastern Cape, South Africa

Abstract

A qualitative research study conducted on the effectiveness of blended learning, conducted in previously disadvantaged university pre-service student teachers adopted case study design. Document analysis of thirty scripts revealed students' lack of mathematics concepts conceptual understanding, application of some theories, and lesson planning. Face-to-face micro-teaching preferred more than online presentation.
