The Relationship between Religious/Spiritual Trauma (Get Refusal) and Psychopathology in a Nonclinical Sample of Jewish Women

This study explores whether a husband’s refusal to grant a get (bill of religious divorce) following marital separation constitutes religious/spiritual trauma for Jewish women. The findings demonstrate that women who experienced get refusal exhibit significant psychopathology compared to women who did not, thus indicating that get refusal constitutes religious/spiritual abuse.
