Older Adults on Trial: Victim Age but Not Defendant Age Affects Verdict

We evaluated the effects of defendant age (25/72) and victim age (26/70) on mock-jurors’ (N=370) verdicts in a murder trial involving Black, male, defendants and victims. Defendant age did not affect verdicts. Victim age affected verdicts when participants reporting the study purpose was related to bias were removed (n=49).
