Abstract

Childhood maltreatment is associated with negative health outcomes. We analyzed data from an ecological momentary assessment study (N = 5,399) and found that childhood maltreatment magnifies the association between perceived stress and blood pressure and heart rate reactivity. These findings illuminate potential mechanisms linking maltreatment to cardiovascular disease.
