More Resilience and Emotional Intelligence and Lower Fluid Reasoning Predict Greater Posttraumatic Growth

Abstract

Most individuals have experienced trauma in their lives, yet prior studies are limited to examining emotional intelligence (EI) and resilience as protective factors against PTSD. We surveyed a diverse sample of 402 adults and found that more EI and resilience and less fluid reasoning predict posttraumatic growth.
