Abstract
We examined the association between the synaptic marker NPTX2 (measured in cerebrospinal fluid) with long-term cognitive decline and MRI brain atrophy in 213 participants who were cognitively unimpaired at baseline (mean follow-up=14 years, mean baseline age=57 years). Findings suggest higher NPTX2 levels may impart resilience to cognitive decline and neurodegeneration.
