Past Behavior Predicts...What? Recent Suicide Attempts Show Limited Relevance to Suicide Risk Indicators and Follow-up Suicidality Among Acutely Suicidal Adults Receiving Inpatient Psychiatric Care

Adults admitted to inpatient psychiatric care following a suicide attempt and those with suicidal thoughts, without a proximal suicide attempt, did not differ in most key suicide risk indicators at baseline (except fearlessness about death). These high-risk adults also did not differ in suicidal thoughts or behaviors over 8-week follow-up.
