Abstract

Mental fixation is defined as the counterproductive focus on unhelpful information. Three experiments investigated whether symptoms of ADHD predict the extent to which individuals experience mental fixation in convergent thinking (E1), problem-solving (E2), and divergent thinking (E3). No evidence was found to suggest that symptoms of ADHD predict mental fixation.
