Why Are Emotional and Instrumental Workplace Support Highly Correlated? Using Network Data to Refute Assumptions of Source Overlap

Using network data, the current study refutes the assumption that levels of received emotional and instrumental workplace support are highly correlated because both come from the same individuals. On the contrary, we found that only about a third of individuals within support networks provide both support types.
