Might Racial Differences in Police Calls be the First Contributor to Disparities in the Criminal Legal System?

Abstract
An initial study on civilian decisions to initiate police contact unexpectedly revealed more concern and police calls for White, rather than Black, actors. These findings raised speculations about social desirability effects, which prompted the development of an ongoing, follow-up study that involves a priming procedure.
