Abstract

We examined subtypes of listening and reading comprehension in 1361 Chinese children (Grades 2–6, 645 females, Mage=9.90). Latent profile analysis identified four subtypes: Low comprehension, high listening/low reading, high reading/low listening, and high comprehension, reflecting distinct patterns of comprehension development across auditory and visual modalities.
