Abstract
This study analyzed the associations between physical activity (PA) intensity, domain, and depression using NHANES data. Recreational vigorous PA significantly reduced depression risk, while work-related PA increased it. Findings highlight the mental health benefits of tailored recreational PA interventions, emphasizing intensity and type over uniform PA guidelines for optimal outcomes.
