Abstract
We conducted a randomized controlled experiment (N=319) to investigate the immediate and delayed effects of failure (vs. success) experiences on students' subsequent emotion, motivation, and performance. While failure had immediate and delayed negative effects on motivation, these trends did not translate to the effects on emotion and performance.
