Abstract
Anxiety and gastrointestinal distress are marked by similar physiological responses, but whether anxiety is predictive of acute responses to a nauseogenic stimulus had not been extensively investigated. State and trait anxiety were correlated with recent gastrointestinal symptoms, and state anxiety was predictive of aversive responses to the illusion of self-motion.
