Abstract

Emotional dysregulation and stress contribute to psychological and emotional difficulties that impair daily functioning. Our study examined the relationship between emotion regulation and perceived stress in a diverse sample of U.S. adults. Results showed that emotion regulation was linked to lower perceived stress, while greater emotional utilization predicted higher stress.
