Abstract

This study concerns how mindfulness during social media use is related to self-esteem and digital well-being. Data from 316 participants shows that mindfulness buffers against negative impacts on self-esteem for men but not women, highlighting social media's disproportionate harm to women and the need for gender-sensitive digital wellness strategies.
