Abstract

Few studies have examined the dyadic relationship between caregiver and child perceived family communication and child problems. Using the APIM model, we found that child-perceived family communication problems significantly associated with self-reported internalizing and externalizing difficulties and caregiver-reported child externalizing difficulties. These results highlight implications for developing child-focused interventions.
