It’s (Not) OK: Follower Empathy in Response to Leader Justifications for Expressed Anger

This study examined how justifications (work vs. personal) for a leader’s anger impacted followers' state empathy. Results of a scenario-based study demonstrate that follower state empathy is higher when leaders employ a work justification, and that this effect is moderated by trait empathy.
